LIFE YOGA'S CODE OF CONDUCT
Preamble to the Code of Contact
This Code
of Conduct is a summation and declaration of acceptable, ethical, and
professional behaviour by which we agree to conduct the practice,
teaching, and business of yoga, dance, Thai yoga massage, energy
healing, and holistic nutrition. It is not intended to supersede neither the Codes of
Conduct/Ethics of any other school or tradition, nor any local
government and national laws that pertain, but is intended to be a basis
for ethics and values within Life Yoga.Our Code of Contact
Through Life Yoga, it is our intention to promote an exploration of yoga, dance, Thai Yoga Massage, energy healing, and holistic nutrition; these modalities strengthen the physical body, calm the mind, balance the emotions, and connect us to our Divine self.As teachers, practitioners, and Energy Exchangers, it is our responsibility to uphold and foster a safe, clean, comfortable, and sacred environment in order to facilitate and transform students. In this role, we commit to improving the quality of these arts in the modern world through loving, giving, and serving.
In doing so, we respect and agree to the following principles:
- To promote the holistic well-being of clients as our prime consideration and empower clients to understand their connection to the Universal consciousness;
- To refuse to unjustly discriminate or favour clients;
- To respect the integrity and dignity of all clients and safeguard information that has been obtained through this relationship;
- To respect clients’ boundaries with regard to practice, disclosure, and emotional expression;
- To acknowledge the value of and proper context for teaching and treating and avoid offering our services unless explicitly sought;
- To maintain appropriate, professional, and conscientious relationships with our clients;
- To foster a permission-based, safe, hands-on relationship with our clients founded on mutual respect;
- To avoid any interests, activities, or influences that may be in conflict with our obligation as teachers and practitioners;
- To conduct business and professional activities with honesty and integrity;
- To acknowledge the limitations of our work and expertise and refer clients to appropriate professionals, as necessary;
- To represent our education, training, and experience honestly, providing only those services that we are qualified to perform and, where appropriate, refer clients to seek alternative instruction, advice, treatment, or direction;
- To consistently maintain and improve our professional knowledge and competence, striving for professional excellence through continued education, training, and regular assessment of personal and professional strengths and weaknesses;
- And to commit to practicing what we teach (i.e., yoga, dance, Thai yoga massage, energy healing, and/or holistic nutrition) as a way of life.
